Sailor Moon goes Biblical
The sailor Scouts died for our sins.
Oh Lord…I bet there’s so much hate out there for this. I have to wonder though, did the creators mean this to be a parallel to Jesus or does this mean something else in Japanese culture and symbolism that I’m unaware of. Furthermore, if it is supposed to parallel Jesus, do they mean it in an “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” sort of way or in a mocking sort of way? Hard to tell just from a picture. I’d be curious of the intent behind it.
